Neighborhood Boundaries

Organization History

With many neighbors in our community having small children, there was a concern for safety in our neighborhood. Due to this, we contacted the police department to form a neighborhood watch. Thus the Armory Alliance Watch 237 was created. Through this watch, neighbors are able to feel safer and more in touch with their community.

In the past we have held events such as:

  • Block parties
  • Yard Sales
  • Ladies Luncheons
  • Planted flowers at street corners and in Armory Park

The group has also brought meals to the sick or homes with new babies, had community work days and acquired grants to improve the neighborhood.

Neighborhood Issues

The focus of this neighborhood group is really safety and promoting a sense of belonging. The neighborhood has a phone tree which can be used for emergencies and also to let all the neighbors know about issues of interest.

Why would someone want to live in your neighborhood?

There are many reasons to live in this neighborhood. The neighborhood is safe and is very pleasant to walk through. A key experience in this neighborhood is Armory Park. Children love coming to this park to play and parents do not have to worry about them being close to the busy streets. Dogs are also welcome in the park. In the next 3 years, there are plans to make this park even better and fun for everyone. This neighborhood is also conveniently close to Michigan Avenue and the unique stores and eateries it has to offer.
